Woodland’s Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the City’s 26 miles of streets and right of way. Street maintenance includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Street Signs
- Crack-filling
- Chip-sealing
- Seal Coat
- Ditch Maintenance
- Painting
- Patching

The City sub-contracts street sweeping, catch basin cleaning and road striping. Street sweeping is done in June and in December. Catch basins are cleaned during the summer months. A contract through Cowlitz County Department of Public Works, enables the striping for the over 60,000 feet of Woodland collector and arterial streets.
In 2012, the City of Woodland Public Works crew is scheduled to chip seal roughly 1.4 miles and asphalt and 1/2 mile of road.
