Council member Benjamin Fredricks was first appointed to the Woodland City Council in 2008 when the Council expanded from five to seven members. In 2009, he was elected to a full four year term.  He earned the Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) in 2012. 

Council member Fredricks has remained committed to working with his fellow council members to improve the quality of life for all Woodlanders.  He is passionate about preserving the history of the city and has been an advocate to ensure that Woodland is a well planned community with an efficient, accountable and responsive local government.  Since serving as a Woodland City Council member, Mr. Fredricks has served on the following committees:

  • Current Chairman of the Finance Committee
  • Past Public Safety Committee (Police & Fire Services)
  • Past Member of the Regional Fire Authority (RFA) Planning Committee
  • Past Alternate Member Lodging & Tax Advisory Committee
  • Current Alternate Member of the Cowlitz County 911 Committee
  • Past Member Public Utilities Committee
  • Past Member Human Resources & Government Committee

Benjamin is employed with and has held numerous positions with G&K Services, a publicly traded international company, for 19 years. In his current position as Business Manager, he is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Pacific Northwest business.

Benjamin and his wife Brooke, who were married in 1995, moved to Woodland in 2007. They have two daughters, Kayla and Kylie, who are currently enrolled in Woodland Public Schools.
