WSDOT I-5 Construction April - October 2024 Expect Delays

UPDATE: May 2nd, 2024

PROJECT: I-5 Dike Access Road Bridge Repair

Expect delays near Exit 22 for the Dike Access Road Bridge Repair. The repairs include hydro mill of the existing bridge deck with modified concrete overlay, expansion joint replacement, small quantity paving at the ends of the bridge, and guardrail improvements. There will be a temporary barrier in place with two narrow lanes of traffic through the work zone, scheduled to be installed May 3rd (depending on weather).

WSDOT will have contracted crews working on the North Fork Lewis River Bridge again this spring. They will be starting on the north side finishing up concrete polyester overlay work and then move to the south side to start the much needed rehabilitation of the bridge decking.

Travelers on I-5 and in surrounding communities will experience significant delays due to the construction on the bridges. On the south bound lanes, the lanes will be reduced from three lanes to two very narrow lanes and speed limits will be reduced throughout the work zones.

Also, WSDOT will be working on the I-5 Dike Access Road Bridge, which is just north of Woodland. There will be lane closures and reduce speed zone in this area while crews make repairs.
