Downtown Flower Baskets
Why are the flower baskets not up downtown in time for Mother’s Day weekend?
With Mother’s Day coming a week earlier this year, as it is not a static holiday, it is under the recommendation by the nursery that we do not hang the flower baskets today (Friday, May 6, 2022), due to the extreme rain projected for this weekend, but wait until next weekend. This will allow the baskets to stabilize in the greenhouse and not be subject to broken plant stems and powdery mildew caused by excessive rain on the young plants. Excessive rain can ruin the plants roots and affect how they grow, thus could result in non-vibrant full baskets this year. Thank you for understanding that we want the best results from the funding set aside for these baskets. Look for them to be hung on May 13th!
