Salary Range: $8,217 to $10,009

Employment Type: Full-Time Exempt Position, Required to work in office.

Residence Requirements: Must reside within thirty (30) minutes of the Woodland City Limits, as defined by the mayor (WMC 2.48.020)

Requirements, Experience, and Education:

  • Must have a water distribution manager license from Washington State Department of Health.
  • Must have a valid State Drivers License and an insurable driving record.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, public administration or a field closely related to the duties required of this position. OR Five (5) years of progressively responsible public works experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience with emphasis working with a small crew.

The City of Woodland is seeking a qualified individual to be the Public Works Director. Working under the authority and direction of the Mayor. Woodland's Public Works Director plans, organizes, directs and controls the functions of the Public Works Department, including the functions of engineering, water, streets, storm water systems, wastewater, parks, public buildings, and facilities maintenance. The Public Works Director also is responsible for communicating with citizens, businesses, staff and elected officials, and serves as part of the City’s management team in running the operations of the city. The Public Works Director will be required to attend all City Council meeting, which are the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month and starts at 7:00PM (if Monday is a holiday, then meetings are held the next business day).
