Washington State Patrol Collision Reporting

Washington state law requires any driver, pedestrian, pedal cycle or property owner involved in a collision within the state – with $1000 or more damage to any one unit and/or injury to any person, to complete a Motor Vehicle Collision Report. However, if a police officer is present and indicates he/she will submit a collision report, then you are not required to submit one.

In short, if a Woodland Police officer investigated an accident you were involved in, the officer will prepare a report, and you do not have to file a written report with the state. If you wish to complete a report, or an officer did not investigate the accident, a motor vehicle collision report may be completed online through Washington State Patrol's Collision Section provided in the link below.
